Genebre 2406 – Wafer Check Valve, PN16

The Genebre 2406 is a single-disc wafer check valve designed for installation between flanges. Operation is automatic, driven by differential pressure and flow direction, without the need for an actuator. The valve is intended to prevent reverse flow in pipelines carrying liquids compatible with stainless steel CF8M and Viton/FKM elastomers.

Hydraulic Data

Kv values range from 11.5 m³/h at 1½" up to 2720 m³/h at 12". Opening pressure is negligible in horizontal flow; for vertical upward flow, it is approximately 6 mbar for DN40–DN150 and 9 mbar for DN200–DN300.

Installation Guidelines

Install only in horizontal pipelines or vertical lines with upward flow. Avoid installation immediately downstream of pumps, elbows, reducers, or other valves without straight pipe sections. Recommended straight lengths: 10×DN upstream, 3×DN downstream to minimize turbulence. Welding after installation is not permitted due to risk of seat overheating and deformation.

Applications

Suitable for compact water piping, auxiliary industrial circuits, skids, and lines with clean liquids or compatible chemicals. Selection should consider temperature, pressure, chemical compatibility (CF8M/FKM), and sufficient flow to maintain disc stability.

Is maintenance required? No lubrication or periodic maintenance is needed, but regular inspection for leakage and connection integrity is recommended.
Is repair possible? Yes, replacement O-rings and seats are available. In inaccessible locations, replacement may be more practical.
