Genebre – Technical profile of a valve, flow control and automation accessories manufacturer

Genebre is a Spanish manufacturer of valves and flow control components for plumbing, HVAC, gas, water, industrial utilities and general process applications. The company’s industrial product range includes ball valves, butterfly valves, gate valves, check valves, strainers, safety valves, pressure reducing valves, flow switches, expansion joints and automation components.

The Genebre product range represented by Philippopoulos S.A. includes:

Genebre ball valves are mainly used for isolation service. They are available in threaded, flanged, welded, wafer and camlock configurations, depending on the series. Three-way L-port and T-port valves are used for diverting or selecting flow paths. V-port ball valves are used when a more controlled flow characteristic is required.

Check valves must be selected according to flow direction, installation position, cracking pressure, spring arrangement and risk of water hammer. Disc check valves and swing check valves have different dynamic behaviour and should not be considered interchangeable without checking the application.

Y strainers are used upstream of pumps, control valves, meters and sensitive equipment. Selection requires mesh or perforation size, pressure drop, access for cleaning and drain arrangement.

Genebre safety valves and pressure relief components require proper sizing. Set pressure, required relieving capacity, back pressure, temperature and medium must be defined before selection.

Genebre is suitable for HVAC systems, water networks, compressed air, industrial utilities, fire protection networks and general process services. Engineers should select each valve according to function on the P&ID, pressure-temperature rating, material compatibility and required certification.
