4G Ghidini 153001 Spherical Bottom Tank Valve

Two-way full bore ball valve for bottom tank drainage or isolation. The tank side features a fixed UNI EN 1092 flange; the outlet is ISO 228 female threaded. Constructed from AISI 316L / 1.4404 for use with water, foodstuffs, and chemicals compatible with 316L stainless steel. Designed for processes requiring low product retention.

Type Selection

The standard version is used in tanks where product is discharged by gravity or pump. The 153001E variant with heating jacket is specified for media that increase in viscosity or solidify at lower temperatures (e.g. fats, syrups, resins, or crystallizing products).

Actuation and Maintenance

Compatible with pneumatic or electric actuators via ISO 5211. Manual lever kits are available. Prior to intervention, line isolation, zero pressure, and valve drainage are required. The manual recommends gradual opening/closing to prevent hydraulic shock and leakage inspection every ~2,500 cycles, depending on medium, temperature, pressure, and duty cycle.

Is this valve suitable for food applications?
On request, the valve can be supplied with M.O.C.A. CE 1935/2004 compliance.

When is EPDM selected over FKM?
EPDM is specified when the chemical compatibility of the process or CIP/SIP medium is unsuitable for FKM. Selection is application-specific.
