Ball Valve 1530 Series | 4G Ghidini

Ghidini 1530 4G Two-Way Ball Valve

The type 1530 is a two-way ball valve with DIN flanged ends and an upper mounting flange for actuator installation. It is used for on/off isolation in stainless-steel process pipework, skid systems, and tank connections where flanged removal is required.

Technical characteristics

  • Valve pattern: 2-way full shut-off service
  • End connection: DIN flanged
  • Body material: AISI 316L / 1.4404
  • Pressure class: PN 10 / PN 16, depending on size and configuration
  • Seats: modified virgin PTFE
  • Operating temperature: -20°C to +170°C with standard seats
  • External finish: polished stainless steel
  • Actuator mounting screws included

Sealing and seat selection

The standard sealing arrangement uses modified virgin PTFE seats. For higher temperature duty, a PTFE seat with stainless-steel reinforcement is available for operation from -20°C to +200°C.

Seat selection should be checked against pressure, temperature, fluid chemistry, cleaning cycles, differential pressure, and operating frequency. The valve is intended for isolation service, not continuous throttling.

Typical applications

  • Process water transfer lines
  • Liquid product lines in food, beverage, and general process plants
  • CIP circuits compatible with 316L stainless steel and PTFE
  • Tank inlet, outlet, and drain connections
  • Chemical services where media compatibility has been verified

Operational context

The flanged DIN connection is suitable for permanent pipework and locations where maintenance access requires disassembly without cutting the line. For leakage-critical duties, gasket material, flange bolting, actuator torque, and seat wear should be included in the valve specification.

Actuation and options

  • Manual operation with lever kit
  • Pneumatic or electric actuator mounting via the top flange, subject to torque verification
  • Counterflanges for tank installation
  • M.O.C.A. compliance to EC 1935/2004 for food contact, on request

Comparison with type 1330

The 1530 is the flanged PN 10 / PN 16 version. It is selected for flanged process lines or tanks. The 1330 variant is used where its connection style and installation method match the piping design.

FAQ

Can the 1530 be used for flow control?
Normally no. It is a ball isolation valve and should be operated mainly in the fully open or fully closed position.

Which media are suitable?
Water, compatible liquid products, CIP fluids, and compatible chemicals may be used, provided the fluid is suitable for AISI 316L and PTFE at the specified pressure and temperature.
