Valvosider – Technical profile of a high-pressure and critical service industrial valve manufacturer

Valvosider S.r.l. is an Italian manufacturer of industrial valves for high-pressure, high-temperature, cryogenic, power, Oil & Gas, petrochemical, marine, nuclear and air separation applications. Its main product families are gate valves, globe valves, check valves and strainers in ASME and DIN / EN executions.

Gate valves are used for isolation and must operate fully open or fully closed. They are not designed for throttling. Pressure seal gate valves are used in high-pressure steam, feedwater and power applications. Bellow seal gate valves are selected where stem leakage must be reduced.

Globe valves are used for isolation, pressure drop and controlled flow, depending on trim and actuator configuration. Bellow seal globe valves are used in toxic, volatile, thermal oil, high-purity or fugitive emission-sensitive services. Y-pattern globe valves reduce pressure drop compared with conventional globe geometry.

Check valves prevent reverse flow. Selection must be based on dynamic line behaviour: minimum flow, reverse velocity, cracking pressure, installation position, spring assistance and water hammer risk.

Strainers protect downstream equipment from solids, rust, weld debris and commissioning contamination. Mesh, perforation, open area, pressure drop and access for cleaning must be defined.

Cryogenic valves require low-temperature materials, extended bonnet, packing temperature control, cavity relief, thermal contraction evaluation and appropriate testing.

Valvosider valves should be treated as critical pressure-retaining components. Technical documentation should include design code, pressure class, material certificates, trim specification, testing standard, NDE, PMI, hydrotest, cryogenic test where required and applicable PED, API, NACE or ISO 15848 documentation.
