The Valvosider Y-Type Pressure Seal is an angled flow globe valve designed for high-pressure lines in steam, hot water, condensates, and process fluids. The Y geometry reduces pressure loss compared to conventional straight globe valves, while the pressure seal bonnet utilizes internal pressure to compress the bonnet sealing.
Design refers to BS 1873, API 623, and ASME B16.34. Face-to-face lengths per ASME B16.10, testing per API 598 / EN 12266, marking per MSS-SP 25, with CE-PED compliance and EN 10204 3.1 / 3.2 certificates.
Basic construction includes outside screw & yoke, rising stem, non-rising handwheel, integral backseat, and integral seat. Packing is graphite rings with wiper rings, and gasket is stainless-steel reinforced graphite.
Suitable for power plants, steam boilers, bypass lines, high-pressure steam headers, and processes where pressure drop must be minimized compared to straight globe valves.
For pressure below the disc, permissible Δp must be checked. Datasheet indicates 85 bar for 3", 60 bar for 4", 35 bar for 5", 21 bar for 6", up to 4 bar for 16". Exceeding these limits requires a gear operator or installation with pressure above the disc and internal or external bypass.
Available options include ISO 5210 top flange, gear operator, chain wheel, pneumatic, hydraulic or electric actuator, limit switches, position indicator, locking/interlock, PTFE soft seats, live-loaded packing, extended stuffing box, lantern ring, drain plug, bypass, and DIN connections.
When a high-pressure globe valve is needed with lower pressure drop than a straight configuration.
Primarily used for isolation. For throttling, Δp, noise, velocity, and seat wear must be controlled.
