Globe Valve Angle Bolted Bonnet - ASME | Valvosider

Valvosider Angle Globe Valve per ASME

The Valvosider Angle Type is a 90° angle flow globe valve with a gland packing, designed for isolation or controlled throttling in pipelines requiring flow direction change and control at the same point. Applicable for steam, condensates, hot water, gases, and process fluids, provided the body and trim materials are compatible with the medium.

Construction and Range

  • Class 150: 2"–16", Fig. 460A
  • Class 300: 2"–16", Fig. 461A
  • Class 600: 2"–16", Fig. 462A
  • Class 900: 2"–12", Fig. 463A
  • Class 1500: 2"–12", Fig. 464A
  • Body materials: ASTM A216 WCB, ASTM A352 LCB, ASTM A217 WC6/C5/C12, ASTM A351 CF8/CF8C/CF8M/CF3M.

Basic construction includes bolted bonnet, outside screw & yoke, rising stem, rising handwheel, swivel plug disc, and renewable seats.

Standards and Testing

The series complies with BS 1873, ASME B16.34, wall thickness per API 600, face-to-face ASME B16.10, flanges ASME B16.5, BW ends ASME B16.25, testing API 598 / API 6D / BS 6755, marking MSS-SP 25, CE-PED, and certificates EN 10204 3.1B.

Sealing and Trim

The bonnet gasket is stainless-steel spiral wound reinforced graphite or RTJ. The stem is sealed with graphite rings and wiper rings. Seat/disc surfaces are configured in F6A, F304, F321, F316, or F316L depending on body material, with options for Stellite, Monel, Hastelloy, or PTFE upon request.

Application Selection

Selection is based on class rating, temperature, DN, Δp, pressure direction on the disc, allowable pressure drop, and shut-off or regulation requirements. For high pressure below the disc, manufacturer limits should be checked; if exceeded, a gear operator or installation with pressure above the disc and internal or external bypass is recommended.

Handling Options

Available options include ISO 5210 top flange, gear operator, chain wheel, pneumatic, hydraulic, or electric actuator, position indicator, limit switches, locking/interlock, parabolic disc, stop-check disc, live-loaded packing, extended stuffing box, drain plug, bypass, and BW ends.

FAQ

When to choose an angle ASME globe valve?

When the pipeline changes 90° and an isolation or throttling valve is required in an ASME class arrangement.

Is it suitable for regulation?

Only with an appropriate plug, such as a parabolic disc, and control of Δp, noise, velocity, and seat wear.
