Valpres 7650 PN16 split-body flanged ball valve
The Valpres 7650 is a two-piece DIN flanged ball valve for on/off isolation in industrial pipework. It is used where a quarter-turn valve is required for utilities and compatible process fluids. The stated operating range is -20 °C to +160 °C, with vacuum service down to 10-3 torr, subject to seal and media compatibility.
Variants and body materials
- 765000: stainless steel body, ASTM A351 CF8M, for corrosive or hygienically sensitive industrial services where stainless wetted parts are specified.
- 765001: carbon steel body, ASTM A352 LCB, for non-corrosive industrial fluids and utility lines where carbon steel piping is used.
Sealing construction and wetted parts
The stainless version uses an A479 TP316 / CF8M ball. The LCB version uses an A479 TP304 / CF8 ball. Standard soft seats are PTFE. The body seat arrangement includes Graphoil and PTFE, with Graphoil/PTFE stem seating, FKM O-ring and PTFE thrust washer.
Seal selection should be checked against temperature, pressure, fluid chemistry, cycling frequency and leakage class requirements. PTFE seats are suitable for many water, air and chemical duties, but abrasive or crystallising media may reduce seat life.
Typical applications and suitable media
- industrial water, cooling water and plant utility headers
- compressed air and inert gas distribution
- compatible chemical transfer and batch isolation
- HVAC, heating and general building services pipework
- equipment isolation on production skids and process units
Size range, pressure class and flow data
The series covers DN15 to DN100. Published Kv values for DN25 to DN100 range from 64.5 to 1363.3. The available data indicates PN40 for DN25 to DN50 and PN16 for DN65 to DN100, so the pressure rating must be verified by DN, valve code, flange drilling and operating temperature.
Actuation, standards and certifications
ISO mounting pads F05, F07 or F10 are provided depending on DN, allowing installation of pneumatic or electric actuators for remote isolation or process interlock duties. The series is referenced with TÜV SIL 3 and Fire-Safe approval to EN ISO 10497 / API 607.
Engineering selection notes
- Use for isolation service, not continuous throttling.
- Confirm compatibility of PTFE, FKM and Graphoil with the process medium.
- Check actuator torque margins at differential pressure and after long static periods.
- For steam service, verify pressure-temperature limits and seat suitability before specifying.
FAQ
Is the 7650 suitable for automation? Yes. ISO F05, F07 or F10 mounting allows direct actuator selection by DN and torque requirement.
Which version should be selected? Use CF8M stainless steel for corrosive or chemically demanding duties; use LCB carbon steel for compatible utility and process services.
