Valpres 762000 ANSI Class 150 Split-Body Ball Valve
The Valpres 762000 is a two-piece flanged ball valve for ANSI Class 150 / PN20 piping systems. It is intended for on/off isolation duties in industrial utility and process lines where full-bore shut-off, maintainable construction, and actuator mounting are required.
Construction
- Body and end connection: ASTM A352 LCB
- Ball: ASTM A479 TP304 or ASTM A351 CF8
- Stem: ASTM A479 TP304 or 17-4 PH
- Size range: DN15 to DN300
- Flow coefficient: Kv 19.2 to 16805.6
- Operating temperature: -20°C to +160°C
- Vacuum service: down to 10-3 torr
Sealing Arrangement
The standard sealing system uses PTFE seats, PTFE stem seat, PTFE thrust washer, Graphoil on the stem and body seat area, and an FKM O-ring. Media compatibility shall be checked against PTFE, FKM, Graphoil, and the selected metallic trim.
The valve is suitable for isolation service. It should not be selected for continuous throttling, as partially open ball valves can generate seat wear, noise, and unstable flow conditions.
Typical Media and Applications
- Industrial water and treated water circuits
- Compressed air headers and branch lines
- Inert gas distribution
- Thermal fluids compatible with PTFE sealing materials
- Low-pressure process lines and utility services
- HVAC plant rooms, skids, and industrial packages requiring flanged isolation
Variants and Size-Related Differences
DN15 to DN200 sizes are generally used as manually operated or actuated floating-ball isolation valves. DN250 and DN300 are listed as trunnion versions and are supplied without a hand lever, normally for actuator operation or project-specific operating gear.
Actuator Interface
The valve includes an ISO mounting pad from F04 to F14 depending on nominal size. This allows installation of pneumatic or electric actuators for remote operation, interlocking, emergency shutdown, or automated batch and utility control.
Standards and Certifications
- TÜV SIL 3 reference for safety-related applications
- Fire Safe: EN ISO 10497 / API 607
- Fugitive emissions test: ISO 15848-1
- Pressure class: ANSI 150 / PN20
Selection Notes
- Confirm pressure-temperature limits against the actual fluid and flange rating.
- Check seal compatibility before use with thermal oils, gases, solvents, or additives.
- Use an actuator torque margin that accounts for differential pressure, frequency of operation, and aging of seats.
- For leakage-critical service, specify the required seat leakage class and emission requirements at procurement stage.
FAQ
Is this valve suitable for modulating control?
No. It is an isolation valve for open/closed service, not a control valve for continuous regulation.
Can it be automated?
Yes. ISO F04 to F14 mounting pads support pneumatic or electric actuators, depending on DN and torque requirement.
Which sizes are trunnion type?
DN250 and DN300 are identified as trunnion versions and are supplied without a hand lever.
