Valpres 7660 ANSI 150 Split-Body Flanged Ball Valve
The Valpres 7660 is a two-piece split-body flanged ball valve for ANSI 150 / PN20 process lines. It is available as model 766000 with ASTM A351 CF8M stainless steel body and as model 766001 with ASTM A352 LCB body. The stated operating temperature range is -20°C to +160°C, with vacuum capability down to 10⁻³ torr.
Construction and Sealing Arrangement
- 766000: CF8M body, A479 TP316 / CF8M ball, suitable where corrosion resistance or cleaner service is required.
- 766001: ASTM A352 LCB body, A479 TP304 / CF8 ball, used where carbon steel compatibility is acceptable.
- Seats: PTFE ball seats.
- Body and stem sealing: Graphoil/PTFE arrangements, FKM O-ring, and PTFE thrust washer.
Sizes, Flow and Mounting
The range covers DN25 to DN100 for both 766000 and 766001 versions. Kv values range from 64.5 to 1363.3 depending on size. ISO actuator mounting pads are F05, F07 or F10, according to valve dimension.
Typical Industrial Applications
- industrial water and utility services
- compressed air headers and branch lines
- inert gas distribution
- compatible chemical media within PTFE, FKM and body material limits
- HVAC and general ANSI 150 process pipework
- isolation duty upstream or downstream of equipment, filters, pumps and skid packages
Variant Selection
Select the CF8M stainless steel version for corrosive fluids, cleaner process media, or where stainless piping is specified. Select the LCB version for common utility and process services where carbon steel is chemically and mechanically acceptable. Final selection should verify fluid compatibility, pressure-temperature limits, gasket material and plant piping class.
Actuation and Operation
The ISO mounting pads allow installation of pneumatic or electric quarter-turn actuators. Manual lever operation is typical on smaller sizes; geared manual operation may be considered where operating torque, access or safety procedures require controlled movement.
Standards and Certifications
- Pressure class: ANSI 150 / PN20
- Fire-safe reference: EN ISO 10497 / API 607
- Functional safety reference: TÜV SIL 3
- Vacuum service capability: 10⁻³ torr
Maintenance and Leakage Considerations
PTFE seats are suitable for tight shut-off in many utility and process duties, but seat wear depends on cycling frequency, solids content, pressure differential and temperature. Stem sealing should be inspected during planned maintenance, especially on actuated valves or services with frequent operation.
FAQ
Can it be used on steam? Use on steam should be checked against the pressure-temperature rating, seat material limits and plant specification. PTFE-seated ball valves are commonly used for isolation, not throttling.
Is it suitable for throttling control? No. This is primarily an on/off isolation valve. Continuous throttling can damage seats and ball surfaces.
Which version is preferred for chemicals? The CF8M stainless version is normally the first option, but compatibility must be verified against the complete wetted material list.
