Valpres 761030 ANSI 300 split-body ball valve
The Valpres 761030 is a two-piece flanged ball valve in ASTM A351 CF8M stainless steel for industrial on/off isolation on ANSI Class 300 piping. The range covers DN15 to DN200, with pressure rating up to PN50 and an operating temperature range from -20°C to +160°C, subject to pressure-temperature limits and media compatibility. Vacuum service is stated down to 10⁻³ torr.
Construction materials
- Body and end connection: ASTM A351 CF8M
- Ball: A479 TP316 or CF8M
- Stem: A479 TP316 or 17-4 PH
- Lever and gland components: A182 F316
- Ball seats: PTFE reinforced with fiberglass
Sealing arrangement
The stem sealing set includes PTFE packing, Graphoil, FKM O-ring and PTFE thrust washer. The body joint uses a PTFE and Graphoil sealing arrangement. This configuration is intended for isolation duty, with leakage control at the stem and body split line as key maintenance points.
Suitable media and applications
- industrial water and utility water circuits
- compressed air and compatible technical gases
- chemicals compatible with CF8M stainless steel and PTFE seats
- process auxiliary lines and package units
- vacuum isolation duties
- thermal or steam-related services only after checking seat limits and the pressure-temperature chart
Operating and selection notes
The valve series has Kv values from 19.2 to 6816.6, depending on DN. Valve sizing should consider flow rate, allowable pressure drop, media state, operating temperature and shut-off requirements. For DN200, a trunnion construction is referenced with Δp 25 bar, which is relevant for high differential pressure isolation and actuator torque checks.
Variants and configuration differences
- DN selection changes Kv, face-to-face dimensions, torque and actuator interface.
- Stem material may be TP316 or 17-4 PH depending on size and execution.
- Ball material may be machined TP316 or cast CF8M.
- DN200 is noted as trunnion-supported; smaller sizes are typically selected as floating-ball isolation valves.
Actuation options
ISO mounting pads from F04 to F12 are used depending on valve size. The valve can be equipped with pneumatic or electric on/off actuators. Actuator sizing should include breakaway torque, differential pressure, safety factor, air supply pressure and required fail position.
Standards and certification
The series is referenced with fugitive emission testing according to ISO 15848-1. This is relevant where stem emissions must be controlled, such as chemical plants, utilities with regulated fluids and process units with environmental monitoring requirements.
FAQ
Is this valve for throttling? It is primarily an on/off isolation valve. Continuous throttling may damage PTFE-based seats and should be avoided unless confirmed by the manufacturer.
What should be checked before procurement? Confirm DN, ANSI Class 300 connection, pressure-temperature rating, media compatibility, required certificates, actuator interface and expected differential pressure.
What are the main leakage points? The relevant inspection points are the stem packing area, the body joint and the seat shut-off interface.
