Genebre 2027 socket-weld ball valve
The Genebre 2027 is a three-piece, full-bore ball valve with socket-weld ends to ANSI B16.11. The body is stainless steel CF8M / 316. Standard soft parts are PTFE + 15% glass fibre seats and seals with a Viton stem O-ring. Pressure rating is PN63 / 1000 WOG, with a temperature range of -25°C to +180°C, subject to pressure derating and media compatibility.
Size range and actuation
Available from 1/4" to 4". The valve includes an ISO 5211 mounting pad for direct actuator installation and a lockable lever arrangement for manual isolation service.

Engineering selection notes
Socket-weld construction is normally selected where a compact, welded end connection is required and threaded joints are not preferred. The three-piece body permits access to the centre section for seat and seal maintenance, provided the pipework layout allows bolt removal and body swing-out or extraction.
Before selection, confirm CF8M corrosion resistance, PTFE/GF seat suitability, Viton compatibility, pipe schedule, weld procedure requirements, pressure, temperature, cycling frequency and expected leakage class for the service.

FAQ
Can it be used for throttling?
It is primarily an isolation valve. Continuous throttling may damage soft seats and increase leakage.
Is it suitable for steam?
Only after checking pressure-temperature limits and seat/O-ring compatibility. PTFE and Viton may restrict steam service.
What must be checked before welding?
Pipe schedule, alignment, WPS/PQR, heat input, cleaning, and protection of seats and seals during welding.
