Genebre 2034 three-piece ball valve
The Genebre 2034 is a three-piece, full-bore ball valve with threaded BSP connections to ISO 7-1 / EN 10226-1. The body is carbon steel WCB, with AISI 316 ball and stem, PTFE + 15% glass fibre seats, 1000 WOG pressure rating, and an operating temperature range of -25°C to +180°C.
Typical applications
- industrial water services
- compressed air distribution
- inert gases
- lubricating oils and compatible hydrocarbons
- skid-mounted process packages
- drain, vent and bypass lines
- utility isolation on process equipment
Suitable media and operating limits
This valve is intended for on/off isolation duties with clean or moderately clean fluids compatible with WCB carbon steel, AISI 316 trim and PTFE/GF seats. Media compatibility should be checked for corrosion, swelling, seat attack, temperature, pressure and any cyclic operating conditions.
The 1000 WOG rating refers to water, oil and gas service and must not be assumed as a steam rating without checking the manufacturer pressure-temperature chart. For elevated temperature service, the seat material and threaded joint sealing method are often the limiting factors.
Standards and documentation
- Threaded ends: BSP to ISO 7-1 / EN 10226-1
- Body material: carbon steel WCB
- Ball and stem: AISI 316 stainless steel
- Seats: PTFE with 15% glass fibre reinforcement
- Pressure class reference: 1000 WOG
- Documentation to verify when required: pressure test report, material certificate EN 10204, and PED/CE applicability by size and service category
Selection notes
The three-piece construction allows access to the centre body for maintenance, provided that pipework clearance is available for disassembly. The full-bore port reduces pressure drop compared with reduced-bore threaded valves and is useful where flow restriction or cleaning access is a concern.
For actuated service, verify stem torque, operating frequency, mounting interface, bracket/coupling arrangement, air supply pressure for pneumatic actuators, electrical supply for electric actuators, and required fail position. Do not size actuators only from nominal valve size.
Sealing and leakage considerations
The PTFE + glass fibre seats provide soft-seat shutoff with improved dimensional stability compared with virgin PTFE. They are not intended for abrasive slurry service or continuous throttling, where seat erosion and leakage can develop. Stem packing condition should be included in maintenance inspection plans.
Comparison with related valve types
- Three-piece vs two-piece: easier centre-section maintenance, but requires installation space.
- Full bore vs reduced bore: lower pressure loss and better pigging/cleaning access, with larger body envelope.
- WCB vs stainless body: WCB is suitable for many utility and hydrocarbon duties; stainless body variants are preferred for corrosive or sanitary environments.
FAQ
Can it be used for steam? Only after checking the manufacturer pressure-temperature limits and seat suitability for the specific steam condition.
Is it suitable for control service? No. It is primarily an isolation valve. Modulating service can damage soft seats and reduce shutoff performance.
What must be checked before procurement? Size, BSP thread compatibility, pressure, temperature, fluid compatibility, certification requirements, installation clearance, and manual or actuated operation.

Certificates
GENEBRE, S.A. has implemented a quality management system to control the designing and manufacturing of fluid control valves, as well as the distribution of home and public taps.
This system complies with the requirements of the current international UNE-EN-ISO 9001:2015, certified by the prestigious German certification organization TÜV Rheinland.
In 2000, GENEBRE began to comply with the European Business Excellence Model, more commonly known as the EFQM. As a result, in 2003, the Catalan Regional Government awarded us with the Quality Award. This new system enables us to ensure the quality of GENEBRE's products and also to offer added value to our clients.
In 2012, we obtained the certification for the Environmental Management System. This system is certified according to the UNE-EN-ISO 14001:2015, also by TÜV Rheinland. GENEBRE QUALITY AND ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY
