Genebre 2007N high-pressure NPT ball valve

The Genebre 2007N is a one-piece, full-bore ball valve with female NPT threads to ANSI/ASME B1.20.1. The body is ASTM A105 carbon steel, with AISI 304 stainless steel ball and stem and PEEK seats. Nominal pressure rating: Class 1500 / 255 bar. Temperature range: -30°C to +250°C, subject to pressure-temperature derating and media compatibility.

Suitable media and operating conditions

The valve is generally selected for clean liquids or gases where a compact shut-off valve with low pressure drop is required. Full bore reduces flow restriction in small sizes and helps maintain line capacity. For dirty service, crystallising fluids or media with solids, seat damage and leakage risk shall be assessed.

Valve selection notes

  • Connection: NPT female threads require correct taper-thread engagement and suitable thread sealant compatible with the process fluid.
  • Body material: ASTM A105 is used for carbon steel pressure-containing parts; corrosion allowance and external environment must be checked.
  • Trim: SS304 ball and stem provide general corrosion resistance but may not be suitable for chlorides or aggressive chemicals.
  • Seats: PEEK provides higher temperature and mechanical resistance than PTFE, but chemical compatibility must be verified.

  • 2007N: NPT threaded version for ANSI pipe-thread systems.
  • BSP or ISO threaded variants: used where parallel or taper pipe threads are specified instead of NPT.
  • Soft-seat PTFE versions: lower temperature capability but broader chemical compatibility in some services.

Actuation and operation

The valve is normally supplied for manual quarter-turn operation. If automated operation is required, actuator selection must consider available mounting arrangement, operating torque at differential pressure, cycle frequency, fail position and site utilities. Pneumatic or electric actuation should be engineered case by case.

  • Is it a control valve? No. It is intended for on/off isolation, not throttling or continuous modulating control.
