Genebre 2001 one-piece ball valve
The Genebre 2001 is a reduced-bore, one-piece ball valve for manual isolation of small process and utility lines. The body is polished AISI 316 / 1.4408 stainless steel, with PTFE seats and BSP gas threads according to ISO 7-1 / EN 10226-1.
Operating conditions
- Nominal pressure: PN63, subject to pressure-temperature derating
- Temperature range: -25°C to +180°C
- Available sizes: 1/4", 3/8", 1/2"
- Operation: manual lever handle
- Flow pattern: reduced bore, quarter-turn shut-off
Suitable media
Typical services include water, compressed air, inert gases and compatible industrial fluids. For chemical service, compatibility shall be checked against AISI 316 stainless steel and PTFE, including concentration, temperature and cleaning fluids.
Typical applications
- Instrument isolation and gauge root valves on small lines
- Sampling points and drain or vent connections
- Auxiliary utility services in process plants
- Small bypass lines where pressure drop is acceptable
- HVAC and industrial water circuits within the stated limits
Engineering use and selection notes
The reduced bore produces a higher pressure drop than a full-bore ball valve of the same nominal size. It is suitable for on/off isolation, not for accurate flow control or continuous throttling. The one-piece construction is compact but is not selected where in-line seat maintenance or body disassembly is required.
Actuation and sealing options
- Standard actuation: manual lever handle
- Automation: this valve type is normally selected for manual service; automated duties should be checked against available mounting and torque data
- Standard sealing: PTFE seats
- Leakage consideration: verify shut-off requirements against the applicable test standard and service conditions
Variant comparison
- 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" variants differ mainly by connection size and flow capacity
- Reduced-bore design: lower Cv/Kv than full-bore alternatives
- One-piece body: fewer body joints, limited maintainability compared with two-piece or three-piece ball valves
Standards and certifications
Threaded connections follow ISO 7-1 / EN 10226-1 BSP gas thread requirements. The manufacturer states ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 certification through TÜV Rheinland.
FAQ
- Can it be used for throttling? No. It is a shut-off valve; throttling may damage seats and gives poor control resolution.
- Is it full bore? No. It is reduced bore and should be checked for allowable pressure drop.
- Can it be used on chemicals? Only after confirming compatibility with AISI 316 and PTFE at the actual temperature and concentration.
Description
Certificates
GENEBRE, S.A. has implemented a quality management system to control the designing and manufacturing of fluid control valves, as well as the distribution of home and public taps.
This system complies with the requirements of the current international UNE-EN-ISO 9001:2015, certified by the prestigious German certification organization TÜV Rheinland.
In 2000, GENEBRE began to comply with the European Business Excellence Model, more commonly known as the EFQM. As a result, in 2003, the Catalan Regional Government awarded us with the Quality Award. This new system enables us to ensure the quality of GENEBRE's products and also to offer added value to our clients.
In 2012, we obtained the certification for the Environmental Management System. This system is certified according to the UNE-EN-ISO 14001:2015, also by TÜV Rheinland. GENEBRE QUALITY AND ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY
