Clorius G3F – Three-Way Control Valve from Spheroidal Cast Iron
The Clorius G3F is a three-way flanged control valve designed for flow mixing or separation. It is compatible with Clorius thermostats, electric or pneumatic actuators, and is suitable for hot water, thermal oil, process water, lubricating fluids, district heating, central heating systems, and marine installations.
Series Versions
- G3F DN20–DN65: PN25, EN-GJS-400-15, flanges EN 1092-2 PN25, internal parts made of stainless steel. Kvs 6.3–63 m³/h, same Kvs for mixing and separation.
- G3F DN80–DN150: PN16, body EN-GJS-400-15, seats/cone made of CuAl10Fe5Ni5, stainless steel shaft, flanges EN 1092-2 PN16 or ANSI B16.5 Class 150.
- Low Leakage DN80–DN300: for LDCL cooling water systems, PN16 up to DN200 and PN10 for DN300/250–DN300, soft-seat at AB-B and leakage class IV.
Hydraulic Operation
The port AB / 1 is the common port. With shaft loading, port A / 2 closes and B / 3 opens. Without an actuator, the A–AB connection is open and B–AB closed via spring. With thermostat V or normal direction motor, A closes with temperature increase and B opens.
Flow Characteristics and Leakage
For DN20–DN65, the characteristic is quadratic on A–AB and nearly linear on B–AB, with two balanced seats and leakage ≤0.5% of Kvs according to VDI/VDE 2174. For DN80–DN150, the characteristic is nearly linear; in separation, pressure drop increases by approximately 35% and Kvs decreases by 14% compared to mixing.
Installation
The G3F can be installed with a vertical or horizontal shaft. For DN80–DN150, a free height of 400 mm is required for AVM/AVF 234 or 745 mm for pneumatic actuators. The motor must be protected from moisture and unnecessary vibrations.
