Swing check valve Cast iron 5K - F7372
Cast Iron Swing Check Valve JIS 5K F7372
Flanged swing check valve designed for marine and industrial water systems where prevention of reverse flow is required without external actuation. Construction and dimensions comply with JIS F7372-1996; pressure testing per JIS F7400-1996.
Construction and Test Pressure
- Pressure class: JIS 5K
- Connection: flanged
- Flow: straight-through
- Body: FC200 cast iron
- Bonnet: FC200 cast iron
- Disc: BC6 bronze
- Seat: BC6 bronze
- Gasket: non-asbestos
- Hydrostatic shell test: 1.05 MPa
- Seat test: 0.77–0.4 MPa
Dimensions and DN Range
F7372 series covers nominal diameters DN50 to DN300. Face-to-face length ranges from 190 mm (DN50) to 640 mm (DN300), per series dimensional standards.
Operation
The disc opens by differential pressure during normal flow and closes when flow decreases or reverse pressure occurs. Selection requires verification of minimum flow to ensure stable disc position and to avoid flutter, noise, or premature wear at the hinge and seat.
Typical Applications
- pump discharge lines
- ship cooling circuits
- auxiliary water networks
- ballast and bilge systems (where permitted by specification)
- piping with JIS 5K flanges
Selection and Maintenance Considerations
For seawater service, assess cast iron compatibility, corrosion protection, and project requirements for bronze or cast iron materials. Maintenance includes checking seat cleanliness, free disc movement, hinge wear, and tightness under backpressure.
