Brandoni 06-M6 – Wafer Type Swing Check Valve

The Brandoni 06-M6 is a wafer swing check valve designed for installation between flanges. The 06 series is supplied without a return spring, while the M6 variant includes a spring for assisted closure, allowing installation in both horizontal and vertical pipe runs, depending on flow direction.

Variants and Applications

• 06-M6.4: Carbon steel body (ASTM A216 WCB). Typical uses: HVAC systems, water treatment/distribution, agricultural piping, compressed air, oils, and hydrocarbons.
• 06-M6.6: Stainless steel body (ASTM A351 CF8M). Suitable for chemical processing, food industry, and general industrial applications.

Pressure, Temperature, and Connections

Available in DN32–DN400. DN32–DN250 fit between PN6/10/16/25 and ANSI 150 flanges; DN300–DN400 between PN10/16. Maximum allowable pressure for water and non-hazardous liquids: 25 bar up to DN250, 16 bar for DN300–DN400.

Sealing materials:

• NBR: -20 to +100°C (short-term up to +110°C)
• FKM/Viton: -20 to +150°C (short-term up to +170°C)
• PTFE: -20 to +200°C

Materials and Sealing

Disc: WCB or CF8M per variant. Plate: CF8M (DN32–DN250), AISI 316 (DN300–DN400). Spring: AISI 302. Sealing: O-ring in NBR, FKM, or PTFE. Tested per EN 12266, leakage rate A.

Installation Considerations

Ensure sufficient downstream clearance for full disc opening. Do not weld flanges after valve installation. Hydraulic shock, misalignment, or pipe torsion may damage the valve.

When to select M6 over 06? Use M6 where spring-assisted closure is required or where disc weight alone is insufficient for reliable shutoff.

Is it suitable for hazardous gases? No; technical documentation excludes hazardous gas service.
