Brandoni S6 – Flanged Swing Check Valve

The Brandoni S6 is a flanged swing check valve designed for water networks, HVAC systems, water treatment, agricultural, and industrial process applications. The disc opens with forward flow and closes automatically when differential pressure decreases or reverses. No actuator is provided; operation is fully mechanical.

Material Variants

Available with body in EN-GJL-250 (grey cast iron) or EN-GJS-500-7 (ductile iron). S6.000: body, cover, and disc in EN-GJL-250, EPDM seat, AISI 420 shaft, A2 stainless steel bolts. S6.101: ductile iron body, WCB + EPDM disc, EPDM seat.

Operating Limits

• S6.000: Temperature range -10 to +100°C
• S6.101: Temperature range 0 to +80°C
• Nominal pressure: PN16
• Minimum backpressure: 0.3 bar (S6.000), 0.5 bar (S6.101)
• Maximum allowable pressure decreases with increasing temperature

Applications and Limitations

Suitable for water, heating/cooling circuits, water distribution, and non-hazardous fluids compatible with cast iron/ductile iron and EPDM. Not recommended for steam or gases; gas applications require specific code, version, and PED category verification.

Installation / Maintenance

Valve is unidirectional; install according to flow arrow on body. Do not weld flanges after valve installation. Misalignment, pipe torsion, and hydraulic shock can stress body and cover. No routine maintenance required, but depressurization, drainage, and cooling are mandatory before intervention.

FAQ

When is S6 selected?
For PN16 flanged water lines where full bore swing check and low pressure drop are required.

Is it suitable for steam?
No, the data sheet specifies it is not suitable for steam service.
