Genebre 2460 Y-Strainer, PN40

The Genebre 2460 is a Y-pattern strainer with threaded ends, designed for particulate retention in small process lines. Typical installation is upstream of regulators, control valves, instrumentation, low-flow pumps, and auxiliary circuits. “Gas thread” refers to threading per ISO 7-1 / EN 10226-1 and does not constitute certification for combustible gas service.

Construction

Body: stainless steel 1.4408 / CF8M.
Cap: stainless steel 1.4408.
Screen: stainless steel AISI 316.
Gasket: PTFE.
Body and cap surface treatment: shot blasting.

Operating Conditions

Maximum working pressure is 40 bar. Temperature range: -30°C to +240°C. Available sizes: ¼″, ⅜″, ½″, ¾″, 1″, 1¼″, 1½″, 2″, all rated PN40.

Screen and Pressure Drop

Technical datasheet specifies screen perforation of 1 mm. Selection should consider flow rate, allowable pressure drop, retained particle size, and cleaning frequency. For pump suction, verify Δp for both clean and fouled screen to avoid NPSH issues.

Installation and Maintenance

Install in flow direction indicated by body arrow. Horizontal mounting is recommended with screen not facing upward; in vertical lines, screen must face downward. Isolate and depressurize before opening. Remove screen via cap, clean with compressed air or suitable method, and replace gasket if damaged or sealing is uncertain.

FAQ

Actuator compatible?
No. This is a passive in-line strainer.

When to select over inline strainer?
When PN40, CF8M stainless body, PTFE sealing, and screen access via cap are required.

Suitable for steam?
Installation guidance covers steam systems, but final selection must consider pressure, temperature, PTFE gasket, and line specification.
