Genebre 2460N Y-Strainer, PN40, NPT

The Genebre 2460N is a stainless steel Y-type strainer with female NPT threads per ASME B1.20.1. It is specified for small process lines upstream of regulators, instrumentation, control valves, pumps, and equipment with restricted flow paths. The critical distinction from the 2460 model is the NPT threading; construction remains otherwise equivalent.

Hydraulic Considerations

Manufacturer data sheet provides Kv values from 1.44 to 35.40 m³/h, depending on size. Selection should be based on flow rate, acceptable pressure drop, line contamination, and cleaning frequency. For pump suction, verify Δp for both clean and fouled screens to avoid NPSH reduction.

Installation

Prior to installation, check pipe and thread cleanliness and NPT end compatibility. Tighten using the hexagonal body section; avoid excessive torque on tapered threads. Flow direction must follow the body arrow. Horizontal installation is recommended with the screen not facing upwards; for vertical lines, the screen should face downwards.

Maintenance

Isolate and depressurize the line before opening. Inspect the screen, PTFE gasket, sealing surfaces, and monitor for increased differential pressure. Inspection intervals depend on fluid and solids load.

No. This is a passive in-line strainer.

Is it identical to the 2460?
Not fully. The 2460N uses NPT threads; the 2460 is for ISO 7-1 / EN 10226-1.
