Genebre 2461 Y-Strainer, Flanged PN16

The Genebre 2461 is a stainless steel Y-type strainer with EN 1092 PN16 flanged ends, designed for retention of solid particles in water, air, compatible liquids, and low/medium pressure industrial networks. Typical installation points include upstream of control valves, pumps, instrumentation, heat exchangers, and equipment with restricted flow passages.

Construction

Type: Flanged Y-strainer.
Body and cover: Stainless steel 1.4408 / CF8M.
Screen: Stainless steel AISI 316.
Gasket: PTFE.
Bolts: AISI 304.
Drain plug: AISI 316, from size 1¼″ and above.

Operating Conditions

Maximum working pressure is 16 bar. Temperature range: -30°C to +240°C. Face-to-face dimensions per EN 558 Series 1 / DIN 3202 F1. Available in sizes ½″ to 8″.

Screen and Pressure Drop

Screen perforation: 1 mm up to 2″, 2 mm from 2½″ to 8″. Kv values range from 3.30 to 462.50 m³/h depending on size. Selection should consider flow rate, acceptable Δp, line contamination, and cleaning frequency.

Installation and Maintenance

Flow direction must follow body marking. Screen should be accessible for cleaning and must not trap air or condensate due to incorrect orientation. Before cover removal, isolate, depressurize, and check temperature. On reassembly, inspect PTFE gasket and seating surfaces for cleanliness.

Is actuator mounting possible?
No. This is a passive in-line strainer.

When to select 2461 over 2460?
Use 2461 when a PN16 flanged connection is required instead of threaded ends.
