Genebre 2461A Y-Strainer, ANSI Class 150

The Genebre 2461A is a stainless steel Y-type strainer with flanged ends according to ANSI B16.5 Class 150. It is designed for retention of solid particles in water, air, compatible industrial fluids, and utility lines upstream of pumps, control valves, flow meters, heat exchangers, and equipment with restricted passages.

Operating Conditions

Maximum working pressure: 19 bar. Temperature range: -30°C to +240°C. Available in sizes 2″ to 8″ with ANSI Class 150 flanges.

Screen and Hydraulic Data

Screen perforation: 1 mm for 2″, 2 mm for 2½″ to 8″. Kv values range from 35.40 to 462.50 m³/h depending on size. Selection should consider flow rate, allowable pressure drop, network cleanliness, and cleaning frequency.

Difference from Genebre 2461 PN16

The 2461A is specified for ASME/ANSI Class 150 flanged systems. The 2461 variant is for EN 1092 PN16 flanges. Selection must follow the project piping specification, not just nominal diameter.

Maintenance

Before opening, isolate and depressurize the line and verify temperature. During maintenance, inspect the screen, PTFE gasket, drain plug, and sealing surfaces. Increased differential pressure indicates cleaning is required.

When is 2461A selected?
When the pipeline uses ANSI B16.5 Class 150 flanges.
