Genebre 2256 Flanged Inlet Safety Valve
The Genebre 2256 is a spring-loaded safety valve constructed from stainless steel, designed for gas or steam service. Unlike threaded variants, this model features a flanged PN16/40 inlet per EN 1092-1 and a BSP threaded outlet per ISO 228/1.

Standards and Sizing
Design and testing comply with EN 12516 and EN ISO 4126-1/7. Sizing data is provided for air at 20°C and saturated steam, using a 10% overpressure calculation.
Application Selection
The 2256 is specified where a flanged inlet is required, such as steam headers, pressure vessels, process gas lines, and stainless steel skids. For temperatures above 250°C, verify spring material suitability.
Comparison with 2252 / 2253
2252 is threaded, no test lever. 2253 is threaded with test lever. 2256 is selected for flanged inlet and threaded outlet, no lever.

Is it suitable for water?
The datasheet specifies use for gas or steam. Liquid service requires separate assessment.
Is an actuator required?
No. Operation is by process pressure and spring force.
What is checked during maintenance?
Seat cleanliness, tightness after lift, set pressure seal, outlet drainage, and backpressure from discharge piping.
