Berluto SP 80 N is an angle-type, direct-acting spring-loaded pressure relief/overflow valve. It is designed for the protection of pumps, bypass circuits, and small process networks against overpressure above the setpoint. Operation is proportional and does not require external actuation.
SP 80 series is used for liquids, gases, and steam, compatible with oil, unleaded gasoline, and benzene. For hot media or steam, sealing selection must be checked, as NBR is limited to +100°C.
Selection is based on set pressure, relief flow, medium, temperature, and connection type. Medium cleanliness is critical; seat contamination can cause leakage after opening. For positive displacement pumps, continuous bypass thermal load must be considered.
Is this an on/off valve?
No. It is a proportional pressure relief valve.
Is pneumatic or electric actuation required?
No. Operation is mechanical via spring force.
When is PTFE preferred over NBR?
For higher temperatures or when the medium is incompatible with NBR.
