Berluto DRV 730-D Stainless Steel Pressure Reducing Valve for Steam

The Berluto DRV 730-D is a direct-acting, piston-operated, spring-loaded, single-seat pressure reducing valve with inlet pressure compensation. It is primarily designed for steam and hot water applications but can also be used with aggressive waters, neutral gases, air, and non-sticky aggressive liquids, provided material and sealing compatibility is confirmed.

Technical Specifications

  • DN15–DN50.
  • Type A: DN15–DN32, Type B: DN40–DN50.
  • Internal thread G 1/2” to G 2” according to ISO 228.
  • Optional NPT thread according to ASME B1.20.1.
  • Maximum inlet pressure p1: 16 bar.
  • Outlet pressure adjustment p2: 0.3–2 bar.
  • Minimum differential pressure p1–p2: 0.3 bar.
  • Kvs: 3.0 / 3.3 / 4.5 / 4.7 / 11.3 / 12.0 m³/h.

Materials and Temperature

The body and spring cap are made of stainless steel 1.4408. Wetted internal parts are stainless steel 1.4404. For steam up to 150°C, PTFE/EPDM seals are used. For temperatures up to 200°C, a PTFE/EPDM/FEPM arrangement is provided, with a lower application limit of +20°C.

Applications

Used in small to medium steam lines, hot water systems, sterilization or thermal subsystems, auxiliary process networks, and local pressure reduction before low-pressure consumers. For steam, selection must consider mass flow, p1, p2, temperature, and flow velocity, not just the piping DN.

Selection and Installation

The valve features replaceable internal parts and dual G 1/4” gauge connections for downstream pressure indication. Installation position can be any, with a preference for vertical. The technical datasheet indicates compliance with PED 2014/68/EU and available classification approvals from DNV GL, ABS, LR, CCS, and BV.

Description

DRV 730-D

Pressure reducing valves of the series are piston-controlled, spring-loaded pressure reducing valves and have an inlet pressure compensation. The cartridge design allows easy replacement of the internal parts. Due to the sealing materials used, the series are ideally suited for steam applications.

Nominal size DN 15 up to DN 50

Inlet pressure up to 16 bar

Outlet pressure from 0.3 up to 2 bar

Temperature range -30 °C to 200 °C

Certificates

CE-certification according to the European Pressure Equipment Directive is mandatory for numerous products and delivery areas. Other certificates, however, are certificates of individual quality, such as DVGW and DIN EN ISO 9001, which stands for the internal quality management system  with its extensive functional and performance checks. The particularly strict regulations of the national rules and regulations guarantee the highest possible safety - especially when it comes to the reliability in your plant.
