Berluto DRV 502 / 508 Flanged Type Pressure Reducers

The Berluto DRV 502 / 508 are direct-acting pressure reducers, controlled via diaphragm, with a regulating spring and inlet pressure compensation. The downstream pressure acts on the diaphragm, adjusting the position of the single seat without external energy or impulse line. The design with replaceable internal parts facilitates maintenance in installed networks.

Technical Specifications

  • DN15–DN80.
  • Flanged connection DIN EN 1092 PN25.
  • Optional ANSI B16.5 RF Class 150 or JIS B2220 16K.
  • Optional PN16 for DN65.
  • Maximum inlet pressure: 25 bar.
  • DRV 502: outlet pressure 1.5–6 bar.
  • DRV 508: outlet pressure 1.5–10 bar.
  • Minimum differential pressure p1–p2: 1 bar.
  • Kvs: 2.9–18 m³/h, depending on DN.
  • Temperature range: -30 to +190°C, depending on sealing material.

Materials and Seals

The body is made of red brass CC499K. In the basic version, wetted parts are Hostaform C/POM and brass up to DN32, while from DN40 they are brass. Seals are NBR, with options for EPDM and FPM. The HT version uses FPM and metallic internal parts for temperatures up to 190°C, but is not intended for steam.

Suitable Media

The series is applicable to water and neutral, non-sticky liquids. It can also be used in air and neutral gases when higher flow rates are required. For potable water or seawater, the manufacturer refers to the special series DRV-6 and DRV-SW.

Difference Between DRV 502 and DRV 508

The DRV 502 covers an outlet adjustment of 1.5–6 bar. The DRV 508 is selected when the downstream set point is up to 10 bar. Selection should be based on p1, p2, flow rate, Kvs, medium, temperature, and sealing material.

Description

DRV 502 / 508

Pressure reducing valves of the series are diaphragm-controlled, spring-loaded pressure reducing valves and have inlet pressure compensation. The cartridge design allows easy replacement of the internal parts.

Nominal size DN 15 up to DN 80

Inlet pressure up to 25 bar

Outlet pressure from 1.5 up to 10 bar

Temperature range -30°C to 190°C

Certificates

CE-certification according to the European Pressure Equipment Directive is mandatory for numerous products and delivery areas. Other certificates, however, are certificates of individual quality, such as DVGW and DIN EN ISO 9001, which stands for the internal quality management system  with its extensive functional and performance checks. The particularly strict regulations of the national rules and regulations guarantee the highest possible safety - especially when it comes to the reliability in your plant.
