Pressure Reducers Red-Bronze - DRV 4-Series - DRV 472/473/478 | Berluto

Berluto DRV 472 / 473 / 478 Direct Acting Pressure Reducers

The Berluto DRV 472, 473, and 478 are diaphragm, spring, and inlet pressure compensated pressure reducers. The downstream pressure acts on the diaphragm, adjusting the position of the internal cartridge without external energy or impulse line. The body is made of red bronze CC499K, and connections are via male thread ISO 7.

Technical Specifications

  • DN15–DN65.
  • Connection R 1/2” to R 2 1/2”.
  • Maximum inlet pressure up to 40 bar.
  • Outlet pressure 0.5–9 bar, depending on type.
  • Minimum differential pressure p1–p2: 1 bar.
  • Kvs 2.9–17 m³/h.
  • Integrated filter.
  • Dual gauge connection G 1/4” for downstream pressure.

Type Differences

DRV 472 covers DN15–DN65 with p2 adjustment 0.5–4 bar.
DRV 473 covers DN15–DN32, with p1 up to 16 bar and p2 0.5–4 bar.
DRV 478 is used when higher outlet pressure is required, 0.5–9 bar.

Materials and Temperature

In the basic version, wetted parts are Hostaform C/POM and brass up to DN32, while from DN40 they are brass. Seals are available in NBR, EPDM, or FPM. Temperature limits are NBR up to 100°C, EPDM up to 130°C, and FPM up to 190°C. DRV 473 is limited to 75°C due to the plastic cap. The HT version with FPM and metallic internal parts is not intended for steam.

Media and Applications

Suitable for water and neutral, non-sticky liquids. Can be used in air and neutral gases when higher flow is required. For potable water, the special DRV-6 series is recommended. Typical uses: industrial water, auxiliary machine networks, neutral process liquids, and local pressure reduction before consumers.

Datasheet and documents

Description

DRV 472 / 472 / 478

Pressure reducing valves of the series are diaphragm-controlled, spring-loaded pressure reducing valves and have inlet pressure compensation. The cartridge design allows easy replacement of the internal parts.

Nominal size DN 15 up to DN 65

Inlet pressure up to 40 bar

Outlet pressure from 0,5 up to 9 bar

Temperature range -30°C to 190°C

Certificates

CE-certification according to the European Pressure Equipment Directive is mandatory for numerous products and delivery areas. Other certificates, however, are certificates of individual quality, such as DVGW and DIN EN ISO 9001, which stands for the internal quality management system  with its extensive functional and performance checks. The particularly strict regulations of the national rules and regulations guarantee the highest possible safety - especially when it comes to the reliability in your plant.
