Berluto DRV 235 Direct-Acting Pressure Reducer

The Berluto DRV 235 is a piston-operated, spring-loaded single-seat pressure reducer without a relief function. The outlet pressure acts on the internal piston, balancing with the spring preload, adjusting the valve opening without auxiliary energy or impulse line. It is intended for local pressure reduction in industrial networks with relatively small to medium flow rates.

Technical Data

  • DN8–DN50.
  • Flanged connection DIN EN 1092 PN40.
  • Optional connections ANSI B16.5 RF or JIS.
  • Maximum inlet pressure p1: 40 bar.
  • Outlet pressure setting p2: 1.5–20 bar.
  • Minimum differential pressure p1–p2: 1 bar.
  • Maximum reduction ratio: 6:1.
  • Operating temperature: -15 to +190°C.
  • Elastomer limit NBR: -15 to +100°C.
  • Kvs: 0.5–7.2 m³/h, per DN.

Materials and Sealing

The body is made of red bronze CC499K. Wetted parts are brass, seals are NBR, and the spring cap is brass up to DN25, while from DN32 it is cast iron. Actual temperature application should be checked based on the elastomer, not just the body limit.

Suitable Media

The DRV 235 is primarily used in compressed air and neutral gases. It can also be applied in water or neutral liquids when flow rates are limited and the required Kvs is covered by the valve's DN.

Installation and Options

Installation position can be any, with a preference for vertical placement. Dual G 1/4” gauge connections are provided for outlet pressure indication. Surface protection options include nickel plating, chrome plating, or chemical nickel plating internally and externally.

Certifications and Procurement Use

The technical datasheet indicates compliance with DGRL/PED 2014/68/EU and classification society options DNV GL, ABS, LR, CCS, and BV. For technical procurement, p1, p2, flow rate, medium, temperature, DN, flange connection, and desired surface finish are required.

Description

Pressure reducing valves of the series are piston-operated, spring-loaded pressure reducing valves. The series has a high setting accuracy and good response behavior due to their low friction of the few moving internal parts.

Nominal size DN 8 up to DN 50

Inlet pressure up to 40 bar

Outlet pressure from 1.5 up to 20 bar

Temperature range -15°C to 190°C

Certificates

CE-certification according to the European Pressure Equipment Directive is mandatory for numerous products and delivery areas. Other certificates, however, are certificates of individual quality, such as DVGW and DIN EN ISO 9001, which stands for the internal quality management system  with its extensive functional and performance checks. The particularly strict regulations of the national rules and regulations guarantee the highest possible safety - especially when it comes to the reliability in your plant.
