TORAFLEX S30 – Double Sphere Flexible Connector with Threaded Unions

The TORAFLEX S30 is an elastomeric double sphere connector with threaded unions, designed for small-diameter piping systems where vibration, noise, hydraulic shock absorption, and limited thermal movement are required. Typical installations include proximity to pumps, compressors, HVAC equipment, and auxiliary industrial circuits.

Technical Specifications

  • Type: Double sphere, with threaded unions.
  • Sizes: DN20–DN80 / ¾"–3".
  • Nominal Pressure: PN16.
  • Connections: Female thread GAS-Rp-BSPP per EN 10266-1.
  • Marking: EN 19.
  • Pressure Testing: EN 12266-1.
  • Unions: Galvanized malleable cast iron EN-GJMB-350-10 per EN 1562.
  • Length: 200 mm up to DN50, 240 mm for DN65–DN80.

Movement Capabilities and Limits

For all S30 sizes: axial compression 22 mm, axial extension 6 mm, lateral displacement 22 mm, angular deflection 45°. Values are per movement direction; combined loading requires application review.

Elastomer Material Options

  • EPDM: Water, hot water, glycols, HVAC.
  • NBR: Lubricants, oils, fuels, oily air.
  • Hypalon: Dilute acids, alkalis, chloride environments.
  • Viton: Hydrocarbons, oils, chemicals (compatibility required).
  • Neoprene: Water and general industrial auxiliary circuits.

Installation and Maintenance

Tightening is performed only on the hexagonal ends of the unions; no load should be applied to the elastomer body. Use appropriate thread sealant, verify pipe insertion depth, and avoid overtightening. In case of leakage at the union, retighten progressively. No actuator is present; this is a passive piping component.

Standards and PED Compliance

Declaration of conformity covers S10, S15, S20, S30, and S32 series for PN7/PN16 and DN25–DN1200, with EN 1092-1 and EN 12266-1. Products are outside PED 2014/68/EU, Article 1.2(O) scope.

Description

Rubber joints consisting of a flexible main shell made of synthetic rubber with inner reinforcements. Threaded unions. For absorbing vibrations and noise caused by equipment such as pumps, machinery, etc., or balancing thermal movements in rigid systems due to temperature changes, as well as balancing slight pipe works misalignments.

Rubber joints can withstand surge pressures and mitigate the effects caused by water hammers. Root ring as standard Specification of the range:

Diverse design combinations by materials of construction, nominal size range (DN20-DN80), design pressure range (PN10-16) and other versions.

Other typical denominations: Threaded rubber joints, threaded rubber expansion joints, threaded rubber compensators

Applications: Water, HVAC, lubrication, compressed air, process, etc.
