Genebre 2830N – NPT Expansion Joint, Double Corrugation
The Genebre 2830N is an expansion joint for piping systems with NPT threaded ends. The body is constructed from EPDM reinforced with nylon, while metallic components are galvanized carbon steel. This joint is designed for vibration absorption, noise reduction, and compensation of axial or lateral pipe movements in auxiliary water networks, HVAC systems, and pump assemblies.

Pipe Movement Capabilities
Double corrugation allows for 22 mm axial compression, 5–6 mm axial extension, 22 mm lateral displacement, and angular deflection of 45°, 35°, or 25° depending on size. Movement values must be verified against expansion calculations, anchor points, and pipe guides.
Application Selection
Suitable for lines where EPDM is compatible with the medium: water, closed heating/cooling circuits, and auxiliary hydraulic networks. For oils, fuels, hydrocarbon vapors, or chemical additives, material compatibility must be confirmed prior to selection.
Installation and Sealing
NPT threads require a sealant such as PTFE tape or equivalent. Tightening torque should not exceed 30 Nm. Piping must be free of welding debris and foreign matter to prevent permanent elastomer damage. For pumps, install at a distance of 1 to 1.5 × DN from the nozzle.
Maintenance
No periodic lubrication required. Visual inspection for thread loosening, corrosion, leakage, excessive deformation, or body degradation is recommended. In case of partial or total failure, the component must be fully replaced.

Difference from type 2830?
Yes. The 2830N uses NPT threads per ASME B1.20.1, while 2830 uses GAS threads.
Are actuators available?
No. This is a passive piping component with no manual or automated actuator.
