Genebre 2830 – EPDM Expansion Joint, Double Wave

The Genebre 2830 is a vibration-absorbing expansion joint constructed with an EPDM + nylon body and galvanized carbon steel threaded ends. It is designed for piping systems requiring vibration isolation, noise reduction, and compensation for minor axial or lateral movements.

Design Movements

Permissible axial compression up to 22 mm, axial elongation 5–6 mm, lateral displacement 22 mm, and angular deflection depending on size: 45°, 35°, or 25°. Values must be verified during piping stress analysis and are not a substitute for proper pipe support.

Typical Applications

Suitable for water networks, closed HVAC circuits, chilled/hot water, pump sets, and auxiliary industrial lines where EPDM is compatible with the process fluid. Not recommended for mineral oils, fuels, or hydrocarbons without chemical compatibility confirmation.

Installation Guidelines

Piping must be free of weld debris or foreign matter. Threaded joints require a sealant such as PTFE tape; tightening torque should not exceed 30 Nm. For pump applications, maintain a distance of 1 to 1.5 × DN from the pump inlet.

FAQ

Is periodic lubrication required?
No. However, visual inspection for loosening, corrosion, leakage, deformation, or elastomer wear is necessary.

Can it be repaired?
In case of partial or total failure, the unit must be replaced as a complete assembly.
