Genebre 2831 – Single Arch Rubber Expansion Joint
The Genebre 2831 is a flanged expansion joint designed for vibration absorption, noise reduction, and compensation of pipe movements in industrial piping systems. The body is constructed from EPDM reinforced with nylon, with a retaining ring and flanges made of galvanized carbon steel.

Pipe Movement Capabilities
Depending on size, the 2831 allows axial compression 10–28 mm, axial elongation 6–16 mm, lateral movement 9–25 mm, and angular deflection 10° or 15°. Values must be verified in conjunction with pipe anchors, guides, and thermal expansion calculations.
Suitable Applications
Used in pump stations, HVAC networks, chilled/hot water circuits, auxiliary industrial lines, and systems where EPDM is compatible with the conveyed medium. Not recommended for oils, fuels, or hydrocarbons without chemical compatibility verification.
Installation and Sealing
No additional gasket is required between the joint and pipe flanges. Bolts should be tightened crosswise, gradually, and evenly. For pump installations, maintain a distance of approximately 1–1.5 × DN from the pump nozzle.
Maintenance
No lubrication required. Inspection should focus on bolt loosening, corrosion, leakage, excessive deformation, or elastomer degradation. In case of partial or total failure, full replacement is necessary. Recommended tightening torques: 50 Nm for 1¼”–4”, 60 Nm for 5”–6”, 80 Nm for 8”–14”, 100 Nm for 16”–20”.
