Spherical Bottom Tank Valve 4G Ghidini 163030

Two-way full bore ball valve for tank bottom installation, featuring a fixed UNI EN 1092 flange on the vessel side and a clamp outlet per DIN 32676 Tab.4 Reihe C. Model 163030 utilizes integral PTFE seals and is specified for isolation, drainage, or product transfer from process tanks.

Integral Seals and Clamp Outlet

The integral seal configuration provides PTFE sealing at the ball, sleeve, stem, and flange. This is critical for bottom tank locations where leakage to atmosphere, product retention, and inspection access directly impact maintenance and process safety.

Clamp outlet is selected when frequent disconnection is required for cleaning, batch changeover, or visual inspection. Compared to ISO 228 or DIN 11851, clamp connections enable faster line break, provided the piping network is standardized to DIN 32676 clamp.

Applications

Suitable for process water, food, beverage, cosmetics, and chemicals compatible with AISI 316L, PTFE, and the selected elastomer (FKM or EPDM). Typical installations: mixing tanks, storage vessels, CIP outlets, filling lines, batch units.

Variant with Heating Jacket

Model 163030E retains the same UNI EN 1092 / DIN 32676 clamp connections and adds a heating jacket for media with high viscosity or solidification risk at the tank outlet.

FAQ

Is this a control valve?
No. Primary function is on/off isolation or tank drainage.

When is EPDM preferred over FKM?
When temperature, process media, or CIP chemicals are incompatible with FKM. Selection is based on media and cleaning cycle analysis.
