Genebre 2053 Spherical Tank Bottom Valve

Three-piece full bore ball valve designed for tank bottom drainage or isolation. The 2053 model features a tank bottom flange and a butt weld outlet per ANSI B16.25, in contrast to the 2052 variant which uses a threaded ISO 7/1 outlet.

Butt Weld Outlet Selection

Butt weld outlets are specified where permanent, threadless connections are required. Suitable for systems prioritizing mechanical rigidity, precise pipe alignment, and unobstructed internal geometry for process and maintenance considerations.

Applications

Used in process water, oil, and chemical tanks compatible with 316/316L stainless steel, PTFE with glass fiber, and FPM. Valve selection should consider temperature, pressure, media concentration, and presence of solids.

Installation and Maintenance

During welding, remove ball, seats, and seals to prevent thermal damage. After cooling, clean sealing surfaces and reassemble the body, tightening bolts diagonally. The valve is bidirectional. Do not leave in intermediate positions without flow and pressure drop calculations. Avoid media that solidify, crystallize, or polymerize inside the ball cavity.
