Brandoni W6 – Wafer Type Spring-Loaded Disc Check Valve

The Brandoni W6 is a spring-loaded disc check valve designed for installation between flanges. The range includes two main variants: W6.020 with cast iron body and soft seat for HVAC, water treatment/distribution, and pumping stations; and W6.626 with CF8M stainless steel body and metal seat for chemical processing, food industry, and steam applications.

Materials and Sealing

W6.020: Body EN-GJL-250, disc/support CF8M, spring AISI 316, seat NBR. Operating temperature: -15 to +100°C (max +110°C short-term).

W6.626: Body, disc, and support ASTM A351 CF8M, spring AISI 316, metal seat. Operating temperature: -25 to +180°C (refer to pressure-temperature rating curve).

Pressure and Hydraulic Data

W6.626: Maximum pressure up to 40 bar for water and non-hazardous liquids, subject to DN and fluid category. Minimum backpressure for tightness: 0.1 bar. Opening pressure: approx. 230–400 mmH₂O depending on DN.

Applications

Suitable for water, heating/cooling circuits, pumping stations, and general industrial fluids. W6.626 is specified for steam, food, and chemical media, subject to CF8M and metal seat compatibility verification.

Installation / Maintenance

Install in straight pipe sections, away from pumps, elbows, and turbulence zones. In vertical installations with downward flow, spring force may not ensure disc closure. No routine maintenance required; depressurize, cool, and drain before disassembly.
