Non-Return Valves Disc Valve type DCEL | Mei
MEI DCEL – Disc-Spring Wafer Check Valve
The MEI DCEL is a wafer-type disc check valve designed for installation between flanges. The disc opens under differential flow pressure and is returned to the closed position by a spring when flow decreases or reverses. No actuator is required for operation.
Technical Data
- Type: disc valve, wafer pattern
- Sizes: DN15–DN100
- Body material: AISI 316 stainless steel
- Sealing: metal-to-metal; soft seat available on request
- Max operating pressure: 20 bar
- Flange compatibility: PN6, PN10, PN16, PN25, PN40, ANSI 150, ANSI 300
- Options: PTFE disc, special materials, calibrated spring
Installation
Self-centering design suitable for compact piping systems with limited installation length. Technical documentation confirms suitability for vertical lines with downward flow, subject to verification of opening pressure and available differential pressure.
Applications
Suitable for clean liquids or gases compatible with AISI 316 and selected seat material. Common uses include auxiliary industrial networks, compact skids, water, air, or process lines at low/medium pressure. For steam, chemicals, or high temperature, confirm seat, spring material, and pressure-temperature limits.
Selection Considerations
DN selection should not be based solely on pipe diameter. Flow rate, pressure drop, and stable disc lift must be evaluated. Low flow may cause disc flutter, noise, or seat wear.
FAQ
When is a PTFE disc selected?
For media or sealing requirements not met by the standard metal seat configuration.
Are special springs available?
Yes, calibrated springs are available on request as per technical datasheet.
