AWS 936 DN15–DN100 – Plastic Wafer Disc Check Valve

The AWS 936 is a spring-loaded wafer-type disc check valve designed for installation between flanges according to DIN EN 1092-1 B1 PN10. This series is intended for plastic piping systems or low-pressure chemical networks where reverse flow prevention is required without the use of actuators.

Materials and Variants

• PVC-U: DN15–DN100, up to 10 bar.
• PP-H: DN15–DN50 up to 10 bar, DN65–DN100 up to 6 bar.
• PVDF: DN15–DN100, up to 10 bar.
• Spring: 1.4571 stainless steel, with options for Hastelloy C4 or PTFE coating.

Operating Limits

Operating temperature range: -20°C to +120°C, depending on body and seal material. Seat materials available: NBR, EPDM, FKM, PTFE, with leakage rate Class A per EN 12266-1. Face-to-face dimension per DIN EN 558 Series 49.

Hydraulic Data

Covers DN15–DN100 with Kv values from 4 to 134.1 m³/h. Typical opening pressure is 9–16 mbar, depending on DN and installation orientation. Higher opening pressures available on request.

Applications

Suitable for water, auxiliary chemical lines, process drainage without solids, water treatment circuits, and installations using PVC-U, PP-H, or PVDF piping. Material selection should be based on chemical compatibility charts, temperature, pressure, and media concentration.

Installation

Piping must be clean, with properly centered gaskets and flow direction matching the arrow on the valve body. Manufacturer recommends a straight pipe section of 5×DN upstream and downstream of the valve. Do not install directly on pump flanges.

FAQ

Is it suitable for steam? Not for standard use; this is a plastic PN10 valve.
Can it handle solids? No. AWS disc check valves are not designed for media containing solid particles.
