Tassalini 3-A Mix Proof – Pneumatically Controlled Hygienic Valve

The pneumatic Tassalini 3-A Mix Proof valves are utilized in food, beverage, and pharmaceutical lines where two flows must remain hydraulically separated during production or CIP. The operational principle is based on a drainage arrangement: potential leakage is directed outside the valve, preventing contact between product and cleaning fluid.

Construction and Materials

Fluid contact parts are made from AISI 316L. The design is self-draining, with internal geometry and surfaces suitable for sanitary installations. The 3-A versions adhere to the criteria and testing of 3-A standards.

Connections and Surfaces

Typical connections:

  • Clamp ends
  • Weld ends
  • Optional threads per DIN, SMS, RJT, ISS

The standard surface for 3-A versions is external polishing and internal satin grain 150 / LS. Optional finishes include LL grain 240 or electropolishing LE grain 400. Maximum operating pressure: 5 bar.

Pneumatic Operation

Air entry is from the top head, with distribution to the lower part via an internal piston. Pneumatic operations can be single or double-acting and equipped with proximity contact, microswitch, solenoid valve, and connector.

CIP and Leakage

In operational position, the cleaning fluid does not mix with the product. During simultaneous seal washing, leaks are directed from the valve to the drain. The design allows access to sealing elements during CIP and complete drainage of internal parts.

Typical Applications

  • Milk, yogurt, juices, beer, soft drinks
  • CIP/SIP lines and wash returns
  • Product separation from detergent or sterilizing fluid
  • Tank manifolds and filling lines

FAQ

When to choose a mix proof valve?
When simultaneous production and cleaning of adjacent lines is required without risk of mixing.

Key selection criteria: DN/connection, product, CIP chemicals, temperature, pressure, gasket material, actuator action, and required feedback signals.

Description

Our pneumatic valves are of heavy duty construction and provide easy, fast access for cleaning operations.

The parts in contact with the fluid are manufactured exclusively of Aisi 316L stainless steel.

The air entry is in the upper head of the valve and distribution in the lower part is by an internal piston.

Absolute safety during servicing is ensured by a special device to keep the springs under constant compression. A wide range of shutters and gaskets are available for specific system requirements.

The standard finish is 120 grit (Ra 1.01-1.14 µm max).

The maximum operating pressure is 4 bars.
