Bellino SRVE – Self-Regulating Valve with External Pressure Tapping

The Bellino SRVE is a self-regulating control valve featuring external tapping. Line pressure is conveyed via external piping to the actuator, acting on one side of the diaphragm, while the reference/set pressure is applied to the other side. No PLC or positioner is required for basic pressure regulation.

Operation and Selection

The SRVE is utilized when it is preferable to obtain the pressure signal from a specific pipeline point rather than internally from the valve body. It is suitable for pressure reducing or relief/back pressure applications, depending on flow direction, plug action, and actuator setting.

Key selection criteria:

  • Set pressure and allowable offset
  • P1/P2, flow rate, and temperature
  • Gas, liquid, steam, or oil
  • Cv, rangeability, and required stroke
  • Seat leakage class
  • Body/trim material based on corrosion and erosion

Limits and Construction

The catalog specifies fluid temperature up to 210°C, regulation range 0.8–500 psi, standard size up to 4", and standard rating up to ANSI 600. Larger sizes or higher classes are available upon request. The current PED certificate for Bellino covers self-regulating valves SRVI/SRVE from 1 ¼" to 24" up to Class 2500#, including API 15000 applications within the respective field.

SRVE vs. SRVI

  • SRVI: Internal tapping, pressure is taken internally from the valve.
  • SRVE: External tapping, with impulse line piping from the control point.
  • The SRVE allows better selection of pressure measurement points but has a larger installation footprint and is not efficient at very low controlled pressures.

Leakage and Maintenance

Seat leakage must be specified in the datasheet. Bellino specifies classes IV, V, and VI per ANSI/FCI 70-2; Class IV/V with metal-to-metal seat and Class VI with resilient seat.

FAQ: For a quote, medium, set pressure, upstream/downstream pressure, temperature, flow rate, connection, materials, leakage class, and impulse line length/position are required.

Description

SRVE Valves plays a very important role in the automatic control of installations which depend on the distribution and the correct amount of liquids or gases flow control.
