Valpres Inox-Val 7000 Stainless Steel Ball Valve

Two-piece full-bore ball valve with cast stainless steel body in ASTM A351 CF8M, used for on/off isolation in small and medium bore process lines. Suitable for liquids and gases compatible with 316 stainless steel, PTFE-based seats, and FKM elastomers.

Temperature range: -20°C to +160°C, subject to seat and seal selection
Vacuum service: down to 10⁻² torr
End connections: NPT or ISO 7 Rp threaded ends
Body and end cap: ASTM A351 CF8M
Ball: ASTM A479 TP316 or CF8M
Stem: ASTM A479 TP316 or 17-4PH
Seats: PTFE or glass-filled PTFE, depending on version
O-ring: FKM

Series Variants and Sealing Options

The 7000 series includes different seat and stem sealing arrangements. Standard PTFE seats are used for general fluid isolation. Glass-filled PTFE or TFM-based variants may be selected where higher seat stiffness, reduced cold flow, or improved cycling behavior is required.

PTFE: general-purpose chemical compatibility and low operating torque.
Glass-filled PTFE: improved mechanical resistance under pressure and frequent operation.
FKM seals: suitable for many hydrocarbons, air, water, and compatible chemicals; compatibility must be checked for each medium.

Operational and Selection Criteria

The Inox-Val 7000 is normally selected instead of carbon steel where the process fluid or external environment requires stainless steel metallurgy. Before specification, verify pressure versus nominal size, operating temperature, thread standard, elastomer compatibility, seat material, and required leakage class.

Standards and Documentation

Material reference: ASTM A351 CF8M and ASTM A479 TP316 / 17-4PH
Thread options: NPT or ISO 7 Rp
Pressure class: PN rating according to size and valve configuration
Material certificates, PED/CE applicability, and test documentation should be confirmed against the ordered valve code and project requirements.

Actuation Options

Manual lever operation is typical for small bore isolation. Pneumatic or electric actuation may be considered where the selected valve configuration includes a suitable mounting arrangement or adaptor kit. Actuator sizing must account for differential pressure, seat material, cycling frequency, and available air or power supply.

FAQ

Can this valve be used for steam?

Use on steam requires confirmation of seat material, pressure-temperature limits, and leakage requirements. PTFE-seat ball valves are not automatically suitable for all steam duties.

Is it suitable for corrosive chemicals?

Only when the fluid is compatible with CF8M stainless steel, PTFE or filled PTFE seats, and FKM seals. Chemical concentration and temperature must be checked.

When should a filled PTFE seat be selected?

Filled PTFE is typically selected for higher mechanical loading, frequent cycling, or applications where standard PTFE seat deformation may affect shutoff performance.
