ADLER FS2 Threaded Ball Valve

The ADLER FS2 is a two-piece, threaded, full-bore ball valve machined from round steel bar. It is used on small-bore process and utility lines where threaded connections and high pressure ratings are required.

Typical Applications and Media

Suitable for water, compressed air, process gases, fuels, chemical liquids and high-pressure auxiliary systems. Common duties include isolation on instrument air headers, fuel gas skids, chemical injection lines, high-pressure utility headers and packaged process units.

Operational Considerations

Seat and seal selection should be checked against fluid compatibility, pressure, operating temperature, cycling frequency and required leakage class. Filled PTFE seats are used where improved wear resistance or dimensional stability is required. Stem packing and body/end sealing arrangements are relevant for fugitive-emission control and maintenance planning.

Variant Selection

The FS2 is generally selected instead of the ADLER FP2 when the line size is small, threaded end connections are acceptable, and the required pressure rating extends up to PN210 or Class 3000.

  • Is the FS2 full bore? Yes. It is a full-bore ball valve, reducing pressure drop compared with reduced-bore designs.
  • Can it be automated? Yes. The ISO 5211 top flange allows direct mounting of pneumatic or electric actuators.
  • Can it be used in hazardous areas? ATEX versions are available when required by the area classification and project specification.
