Genebre 2008 two-piece stainless steel ball valve
The Genebre 2008 is a two-piece standard bore ball valve with female BSP threads to ISO 7-1 / EN 10226-1. The body is stainless steel AISI 316 / CF8M, with PTFE seats and a lockable manual lever. Nominal pressure rating is PN63. Operating temperature range is -25°C to +180°C, subject to pressure, medium and seal compatibility.
Construction and valve selection
The two-piece body provides better serviceability than a one-piece construction, allowing access to internal components when maintenance or replacement is required. The standard bore design has a smaller flow passage than a full bore valve of the same nominal size, so flow rate, allowable pressure drop and line velocity should be checked during selection.
Typical applications
- industrial water and utility water lines
- compressed air distribution
- inert gases and non-corrosive gas services
- instrument air and auxiliary process lines
- water treatment systems
- food, pharmaceutical and clean utility installations requiring stainless steel wetted parts
Suitable media and operating limits
The valve is generally used for isolation service with liquids or gases compatible with AISI 316 stainless steel and PTFE. It is not intended for throttling control. Chemical compatibility must be confirmed against the actual fluid composition, temperature, concentration and cleaning procedure.
Materials and sealing
- Body: stainless steel CF8M / AISI 316
- Seats: PTFE
- Stem sealing: PTFE
- End connections: female BSP threaded ends
Standards and documentation
- Thread standard: ISO 7-1 / EN 10226-1
- Pressure class: PN63
- Material designation: CF8M / AISI 316
- Project requirements such as material certificates, PED documentation or food-contact declarations should be verified at procurement stage.
Variants and automation considerations
Compared with full bore ball valves, this standard bore version gives a lower internal flow area and higher pressure loss. Compared with one-piece valves, the two-piece design improves maintainability. For remote operation, actuator selection must be based on valve torque, pressure differential, duty cycle and available mounting arrangement; confirm compatibility before specifying pneumatic or electric actuation.
Maintenance and leakage checks
Periodic operation is recommended to prevent sticking, especially in services with deposits or long periods in one position. During maintenance, check operating torque, stem leakage, seat tightness and thread condition. Do not exceed the pressure-temperature limits of the valve and sealing materials.
FAQ
Is this a full bore valve?
No. It is a standard bore valve; verify pressure drop before using it on high-flow lines.
Can it be used for steam?
Only if pressure, temperature and PTFE suitability are confirmed for the specific steam conditions.
Is it suitable for corrosive fluids?
Only where AISI 316 and PTFE are compatible with the medium and operating temperature.

Certificates
GENEBRE, S.A. has implemented a quality management system to control the designing and manufacturing of fluid control valves, as well as the distribution of home and public taps.
This system complies with the requirements of the current international UNE-EN-ISO 9001:2015, certified by the prestigious German certification organization TÜV Rheinland.
In 2000, GENEBRE began to comply with the European Business Excellence Model, more commonly known as the EFQM. As a result, in 2003, the Catalan Regional Government awarded us with the Quality Award. This new system enables us to ensure the quality of GENEBRE's products and also to offer added value to our clients.
In 2012, we obtained the certification for the Environmental Management System. This system is certified according to the UNE-EN-ISO 14001:2015, also by TÜV Rheinland. GENEBRE QUALITY AND ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY
