Genebre 2048 full-bore ball valve with 2-piece connector
The Genebre 2048 is a full-bore ball valve with M-F BSP threaded ends to ISO 7-1 / EN 10226-1 and an integrated two-piece connector for line disconnection. The body material is stainless steel CF8M / AISI 316 equivalent. The valve uses PTFE + 15% glass fibre seats and a Viton stem O-ring. Nominal pressure is PN63, with a working temperature range of -25°C to +180°C, subject to pressure, medium and material compatibility.
Sizes and operation
- Available nominal sizes: 1", 1¼" and 1½".
- Manual operation by lever.
- Locking device for open or closed position control.
- Full-bore design reduces pressure drop compared with reduced-bore valves of the same nominal size.
Connection and standards
- Threaded connection: male-female BSP.
- Thread standard: ISO 7-1 / EN 10226-1.
- Pressure rating: PN63.
- Body material: CF8M stainless steel.
- Seat material: PTFE reinforced with 15% glass fibre.
- Stem sealing: Viton O-ring.
Suitable media and operating conditions
Typical service includes water, compressed air, inert gases and compatible process fluids. Chemical compatibility shall be verified against CF8M stainless steel, reinforced PTFE seats and Viton elastomer before installation. The valve is intended for isolation duty, not throttling control.
Typical industrial applications
- Auxiliary process lines.
- Utility water and compressed-air headers.
- Inert gas distribution.
- Drain, vent and bypass connections.
- Skid-mounted equipment requiring removable line sections.
- Maintenance points where a component must be disconnected without dismantling the complete pipework.
Difference from a standard threaded ball valve
The integrated two-piece connector allows a section of the line or connected equipment to be removed after depressurisation and isolation. This is useful for strainers, pumps, small vessels, instruments or skid modules where access for maintenance is required.
Actuation and sealing notes
The standard configuration is manual lever operation with locking. Where remote operation is required, confirm availability of an actuated variant or a separate ISO mounting design before specifying. Seat and stem seal suitability must be checked for temperature cycling, fluid chemistry and leakage class expectations.
Selection guidance
- Confirm pressure and temperature against the actual process envelope, not only nominal PN rating.
- Check compatibility of CF8M, PTFE/GF and Viton with the process medium.
- Use for isolation service; avoid continuous throttling near the partially open position.
- Consider connector accessibility and clearance for maintenance removal.
- Verify thread type and sealing method before installation.
FAQ
Is it suitable for steam? Only after checking the pressure-temperature limits and Viton compatibility for the specific steam condition.
Can it be used for gas? Yes for compatible gases, provided the installation, sealing method and leakage requirements are suitable.
Does the connector replace a union? It provides a removable connection function, but the piping layout and maintenance isolation procedure must be reviewed.

Certificates
GENEBRE, S.A. has implemented a quality management system to control the designing and manufacturing of fluid control valves, as well as the distribution of home and public taps.
This system complies with the requirements of the current international UNE-EN-ISO 9001:2015, certified by the prestigious German certification organization TÜV Rheinland.
In 2000, GENEBRE began to comply with the European Business Excellence Model, more commonly known as the EFQM. As a result, in 2003, the Catalan Regional Government awarded us with the Quality Award. This new system enables us to ensure the quality of GENEBRE's products and also to offer added value to our clients.
In 2012, we obtained the certification for the Environmental Management System. This system is certified according to the UNE-EN-ISO 14001:2015, also by TÜV Rheinland. GENEBRE QUALITY AND ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY
