Genebre 2525 Flanged Ball Valve PN16
The Genebre 2525 is a two-piece, full-bore ball valve with DIN PN16 flanged ends and face-to-face length according to DIN 3202 F-4. The body is ductile iron GGG-40 / EN-GJS-400-18U-LT, with AISI 304 ball and stem. Seats are PTFE + 15% glass fibre; the stem O-ring is Viton. Operating temperature range: -30°C to +180°C, subject to pressure, medium and seal compatibility.
Sizes and Operation
Available from 1/2" to 8". Standard operation is by manual lever with locking device. For automated service, actuator selection must be checked against breakaway torque, operating frequency, safety position and the available mounting arrangement.
Suitable Media and Operating Context
- industrial water, cooling water and plant utilities
- compressed air and non-lubricated air lines
- HVAC heating and chilled-water circuits
- non-corrosive liquids compatible with ductile iron, AISI 304, PTFE/GF and Viton
- equipment isolation on PN16 distribution headers
Engineering Selection Notes
The full-bore passage reduces pressure drop compared with reduced-bore valves and is useful where line losses or flushing velocity are relevant. Selection should verify PN16 rating, process temperature, flange standard, gasket type, bolt set, medium compatibility and allowable leakage class for isolation duty.
Standards and Materials
- Flanges: DIN PN16
- Face-to-face: DIN 3202 F-4
- Body: GGG-40 / EN-GJS-400-18U-LT ductile iron
- Ball and stem: AISI 304 stainless steel
- Seats: PTFE with 15% glass fibre
- Stem sealing: Viton O-ring
Sealing and Maintenance Considerations
PTFE/GF seats provide low operating torque and chemical resistance for many neutral services. Viton stem sealing is suitable for many oils, air and water-based utilities, but compatibility must be checked for solvents, acids, alkalis and steam. Periodic inspection should include stem leakage, flange gasket condition and lever locking function.
Variant and Application Differences
- Full bore: lower pressure loss and better suitability for flushing than reduced-bore designs.
- Flanged PN16: preferred where removable equipment isolation and bolted maintenance access are required.
- Ductile iron body: suitable for many utility services; not a substitute for stainless steel in corrosive process fluids.
- Manual operation: appropriate for isolation; frequent cycling or remote control may require pneumatic or electric actuation.
FAQ
Is it intended for throttling?
It is primarily an isolation valve. Continuous throttling can damage seats and increase leakage risk.
Can it be used on steam?
Only if the manufacturer’s pressure-temperature rating and seal compatibility confirm the specific steam condition. PTFE/GF and Viton limits must be respected.
What should procurement verify?
DN size, PN16 flange drilling, DIN 3202 F-4 length, material certificates, PED/CE documentation where applicable, seal material, operating temperature and actuator requirements.

Certificates
GENEBRE, S.A. has implemented a quality management system to control the designing and manufacturing of fluid control valves, as well as the distribution of home and public taps.
This system complies with the requirements of the current international UNE-EN-ISO 9001:2015, certified by the prestigious German certification organization TÜV Rheinland.
In 2000, GENEBRE began to comply with the European Business Excellence Model, more commonly known as the EFQM. As a result, in 2003, the Catalan Regional Government awarded us with the Quality Award. This new system enables us to ensure the quality of GENEBRE's products and also to offer added value to our clients.
In 2012, we obtained the certification for the Environmental Management System. This system is certified according to the UNE-EN-ISO 14001:2015, also by TÜV Rheinland. GENEBRE QUALITY AND ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY
