Genebre 2016 Camlock Ball Valve

The Genebre 2016 is a two-piece ball valve with a female BSP thread to ISO 7-1 / EN 10226-1 on one side and a male Camlock connection on the other. The body is stainless steel CF8M / AISI 316 equivalent, with PTFE + 15% glass fibre seats, Viton stem O-ring, PN10 pressure rating and operating temperature range from -25°C to +180°C, subject to media and gasket compatibility.

Dimensions and Operation

The valve is available from 1/2" to 3". Operation is by manual lever with locking arrangement. The Camlock end is used where hose or temporary line connection must be made without repeated threaded assembly.

Suitable Media and Operating Conditions

Selection shall consider body material CF8M, seat material PTFE/GF, stem seal Viton, PN10 pressure limit, operating temperature, flow velocity and the Camlock gasket material. Compatibility must be checked for acids, solvents, oils, detergents and cleaning fluids before installation.

Sealing and Leakage Considerations

The ball seats are PTFE reinforced with 15% glass fibre for improved dimensional stability. The stem O-ring is Viton. The Camlock gasket is a separate sealing element and should be selected as NBR, EPDM, FKM/Viton or PTFE according to the fluid, temperature and cleaning regime.

Variant and Selection Notes

  • Compared with a fully threaded ball valve, this version reduces assembly time on hose connections.
  • Compared with a plain Camlock adapter, it provides local isolation at the hose connection point.
  • For permanent pipework, verify that the Camlock interface is acceptable under site safety and maintenance procedures.

Actuation Options

The standard configuration is manual lever operation. If remote isolation, interlocking or automated sequence control is required, verify whether an alternative actuated valve design with suitable mounting interface is more appropriate.

FAQ

Can it be used on steam? Not by default. Steam duty requires confirmation of pressure, temperature, seat limits and Camlock gasket suitability.

What is the main selection reason? Frequent disconnection of a hose or temporary line while retaining valve isolation at the connection point.

What should maintenance check? Seat leakage, stem sealing, lever locking condition, Camlock gasket wear and correct coupling engagement.
