Genebre 2009 full-bore ball valve
The Genebre 2009 is a two-piece full-bore ball valve for on/off isolation duties. It has female threaded ends to BSP ISO 7-1 / EN 10226-1, a CF8M / AISI 316 stainless steel body, PTFE + 15% glass fibre seats, Viton stem O-ring, PN63 pressure rating, and an operating temperature range of -25°C to +180°C, subject to pressure, medium, and seal compatibility.
Sizes, bore and operation
The valve is available from 1/4" to 1" and is supplied with a butterfly handle for manual operation. The full-bore geometry gives a flow path close to the nominal pipe bore and normally produces lower pressure loss than a reduced-bore valve of the same nominal size.
Suitable media
- industrial water and treated water
- compressed air and inert gases
- non-aggressive process fluids compatible with CF8M, PTFE/GF and Viton
- utility lines, drain points, vent points and bypass connections
- small process skids and auxiliary service manifolds
Typical industrial use cases
- manual isolation upstream or downstream of instruments
- utility distribution headers in compact pipework
- maintenance isolation on small-bore stainless steel lines
- drain and vent valves where a full passage is preferred
- compressed-air branches where low pressure drop is required
Variant and selection notes
Compared with reduced-bore ball valves, the full-bore version is preferred where pressure drop, flushing, or pig-free cleaning of short pipe sections is relevant. It is not intended for continuous throttling, as partially open ball valves can create seat erosion, noise, vibration and unstable control.
The standard configuration is manual operation with butterfly handle. For pneumatic or electric actuation, verify whether an actuator-ready execution or a separate valve series with ISO 5211 mounting is required.
Standards, documentation and compatibility checks
- Thread standard: BSP ISO 7-1 / EN 10226-1 female ends
- Pressure class: PN63, subject to temperature derating
- Body material: CF8M / 316 stainless steel
- Seat and seal set: PTFE + 15% G.F. seats, Viton stem O-ring
- Confirm PED category, ATEX suitability, EN 10204 material certificates and project documentation when required by the specification
FAQ
Can it be used for steam? Only after checking the pressure-temperature curve and the compatibility of PTFE/GF seats and Viton seals with the actual steam condition.
Is it a control valve? No. It is an isolation valve for open/closed service, not for continuous flow regulation.
What should be checked before ordering? Size, thread type, pressure, temperature, medium chemistry, leakage requirements, handle access, maintenance isolation philosophy and required certificates.
Description
Certificates
GENEBRE, S.A. has implemented a quality management system to control the designing and manufacturing of fluid control valves, as well as the distribution of home and public taps.
This system complies with the requirements of the current international UNE-EN-ISO 9001:2015, certified by the prestigious German certification organization TÜV Rheinland.
In 2000, GENEBRE began to comply with the European Business Excellence Model, more commonly known as the EFQM. As a result, in 2003, the Catalan Regional Government awarded us with the Quality Award. This new system enables us to ensure the quality of GENEBRE's products and also to offer added value to our clients.
In 2012, we obtained the certification for the Environmental Management System. This system is certified according to the UNE-EN-ISO 14001:2015, also by TÜV Rheinland. GENEBRE QUALITY AND ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY
