Genebre 2014N NPT full-bore ball valve
The Genebre 2014N is a two-piece, full-bore ball valve with female NPT threaded ends. The body material is stainless steel CF8M / 316, with PTFE + 15% glass fibre seats and seals, Viton stem O-ring, PN63 pressure rating, and an operating temperature range of -25°C to +180°C.
Sizes and operation
The valve is available from 1/4" to 3". Standard operation is by manual lever with locking device. For remote or automated service, select a compatible actuated execution or mounting arrangement after checking torque, cycle frequency, fail position, and site utilities.
Typical applications
- instrument air and small-bore process lines with NPT connections
- compressed air, nitrogen and inert gas distribution
- water, glycol and auxiliary utility circuits
- drain, vent, sampling and bypass duties
- skid packages, packaged equipment and small process branches
Suitable media and operating conditions
Use with media compatible with CF8M / 316 stainless steel, PTFE glass-filled seats and Viton elastomers. Typical services include clean liquids, air, inert gases and non-polymerising compatible chemicals. Confirm suitability for temperature, pressure, concentration, solids content and cleaning fluids.
Selection notes
- Full bore reduces pressure drop compared with reduced-bore ball valves and is useful where line flushing or low restriction is required.
- Ball valves are intended mainly for isolation, not continuous throttling or control service.
- NPT threads require correct thread engagement and sealing practice; verify compatibility with the piping standard, typically ASME B1.20.1 where applicable.
- For steam or thermal cycling, check seat load, stem sealing, condensate conditions and the manufacturer’s pressure-temperature diagram.
Standards, documentation and compliance
For procurement, verify the current manufacturer datasheet for pressure-temperature limits, PED 2014/68/EU status where applicable, material traceability, test certificates, thread standard, and any project-specific requirements such as 3.1 certificates, ATEX assessment or oxygen cleaning.
Variants and sealing considerations
The 2014N configuration is the NPT-threaded full-bore version. Selection against other variants is normally based on end connection, bore type, automation requirement and elastomer compatibility. PTFE glass-filled seats improve dimensional stability versus standard PTFE, while Viton should be checked against amines, ketones, hot water/steam exposure and aggressive chemical service.
FAQ
Can it be used for control? It should be specified as an isolation valve. Use a characterized control valve for modulating duty.
What is the main engineering benefit of full bore? Lower restriction and easier flushing compared with reduced-bore valves of the same nominal size.
What must be checked before ordering? Size, NPT thread compatibility, PN63 pressure rating, temperature range, medium compatibility, leakage class requirements and documentation needs.

Certificates
GENEBRE, S.A. has implemented a quality management system to control the designing and manufacturing of fluid control valves, as well as the distribution of home and public taps.
This system complies with the requirements of the current international UNE-EN-ISO 9001:2015, certified by the prestigious German certification organization TÜV Rheinland.
In 2000, GENEBRE began to comply with the European Business Excellence Model, more commonly known as the EFQM. As a result, in 2003, the Catalan Regional Government awarded us with the Quality Award. This new system enables us to ensure the quality of GENEBRE's products and also to offer added value to our clients.
In 2012, we obtained the certification for the Environmental Management System. This system is certified according to the UNE-EN-ISO 14001:2015, also by TÜV Rheinland. GENEBRE QUALITY AND ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY
