Genebre 2014 full bore ball valve
The Genebre 2014 is a two-piece, full bore ball valve with female BSP threaded ends to ISO 7-1 / EN 10226-1. The body is stainless steel CF8M / 316, with PTFE + 15% glass fibre seats and seals, Viton stem O-ring, PN63 pressure rating and operating temperature range from -25°C to +180°C.
Sizes and operation
- Available sizes: 1/4" to 3"
- Manual lever operation with locking device
- Quarter-turn shut-off service; not intended for throttling control
- Actuated operation should only be specified after confirming compatible mounting arrangement, torque requirement and duty cycle
Suitable media and service conditions
- Industrial water and treated utility water
- Compressed air and inert gases
- Auxiliary process lines
- Drain, vent, bypass and isolation duties
- Installations requiring stainless steel CF8M wetted parts
Media compatibility shall be checked against CF8M/316 stainless steel, PTFE/GF seats, Viton elastomer, operating pressure, temperature and fluid concentration. For continuous steam, vacuum, oxygen, aggressive chemicals or cyclic thermal service, the seal material and valve rating shall be verified before selection.
Full bore versus reduced bore
The full bore design provides a flow passage close to the pipe bore, reducing local pressure loss compared with reduced bore ball valves. This is relevant in compressed air headers, pump bypasses, flushing lines and utility distribution where pressure drop and cleanability are design considerations.
Standards and documentation
- Threaded ends: BSP to ISO 7-1 / EN 10226-1
- Pressure rating: PN63, subject to temperature derating and media compatibility
- Body material: CF8M stainless steel, commonly used as cast 316 equivalent
- Material certificates, PED status or project documentation should be confirmed against the supplied valve and order requirements
Sealing and maintenance notes
- Standard seats: PTFE + 15% glass fibre for improved dimensional stability versus virgin PTFE
- Stem sealing: Viton O-ring; verify compatibility with hot water, steam, solvents and chemical service
- Ball valves are normally used fully open or fully closed to reduce seat wear
- Leakage risk increases with abrasive solids, crystallising fluids, frequent cycling or operation outside the rated envelope
FAQ
Can it be used for flow control? It is primarily an isolation valve. Use a control valve or characterized ball valve for modulating service.
Is it suitable for stainless process pipework? Yes, where CF8M/316, threaded BSP connections, PN63 rating and the seal materials are compatible with the process fluid.
What should be checked before procurement? Size, pressure-temperature condition, thread standard, fluid compatibility, leakage class expectations, locking requirement and any certification required by the plant specification.
Description
Certificates
GENEBRE, S.A. has implemented a quality management system to control the designing and manufacturing of fluid control valves, as well as the distribution of home and public taps.
This system complies with the requirements of the current international UNE-EN-ISO 9001:2015, certified by the prestigious German certification organization TÜV Rheinland.
In 2000, GENEBRE began to comply with the European Business Excellence Model, more commonly known as the EFQM. As a result, in 2003, the Catalan Regional Government awarded us with the Quality Award. This new system enables us to ensure the quality of GENEBRE's products and also to offer added value to our clients.
In 2012, we obtained the certification for the Environmental Management System. This system is certified according to the UNE-EN-ISO 14001:2015, also by TÜV Rheinland. GENEBRE QUALITY AND ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY
