Genebre 2010 M-F Full Bore Ball Valve

The Genebre 2010 is a two-piece, full bore ball valve with male-female threaded ends to Gas ISO 7-1 / EN 10226-1. The body is stainless steel CF8M / 316, with PTFE + 15% glass fibre seats, Viton stem O-ring, PN63 pressure rating and operating temperature range from -25°C to +180°C.

Sizes, Connections and Operation

The valve is available from 1/4" to 1" and is supplied with a butterfly handle. The M-F configuration allows direct installation between instruments, fittings, manifolds or small auxiliary lines without an additional nipple.

Suitable Media and Operating Conditions

Selection shall be based on pressure, temperature, fluid phase, corrosion allowance and compatibility with CF8M stainless steel, PTFE/GF seats and Viton elastomers. The valve is generally used for clean or moderately clean liquids and gases where full bore flow is required.

Full Bore Versus Reduced Bore

The full bore design keeps the flow passage close to the nominal pipe bore, reducing pressure drop compared with reduced bore valves. This is relevant on instrument air headers, drain points, low-pressure utility lines and process take-offs where additional restriction is undesirable.

Sealing and Leakage Considerations

  • Seat material: PTFE reinforced with 15% glass fibre for improved dimensional stability.
  • Stem sealing: Viton O-ring, subject to chemical and temperature compatibility checks.
  • Quarter-turn isolation valve; not intended for continuous throttling service.
  • Leak-tightness depends on correct installation torque, clean media and seat condition.

Actuation and Variants

This configuration is supplied for manual operation with a butterfly handle. For remote operation, position indication or pneumatic/electric actuation, an automated ball valve variant with a suitable mounting interface should be selected. The M-F version differs from F-F or M-M variants by reducing fitting count in compact assemblies.

FAQ

Can it be used for steam?

Only after checking the pressure-temperature rating and compatibility of PTFE/GF seats and Viton seals with the actual steam conditions. For saturated or superheated steam, a dedicated steam-rated valve may be required.

Is it suitable for control service?

No. It is an isolation valve. Continuous throttling can damage the seats and may cause unstable flow or leakage.

What should be checked before procurement?

Confirm size, thread standard, M-F orientation, PN63 suitability, operating temperature, fluid compatibility, required certification, installation space and maintenance access.
